Welcome to the home of wiPolo martyrs Daudi Okelo and Gildo Irwa
Daudi Okelo and Jildo Irwa were two young catechists martyred in Paimol, Northern Uganda, in 1918.
Their love for God and their actions were fundamental in the early growth of the Church in Uganda and continue to sustain the cultural sentiments and cohesiveness of Northern Uganda, especially after the conflict in the region. The excellence of the two youths faith, courage and zeal have been not only seminal but continue to give reasons to Acholi people’s sense of belonging.
